World of Warcraft patch 5.3 will introduce in-game troubleshooting browser

World of Warcraft’s 5.3 patch is going to be doing more than just giving spectacles to all the game’s pets, it’s also going to make troubleshooting a whole bunch easier: Blizzard are working on a new in-game web browser that will allow you to search through their bug database, seeking out support threads relevant to your problem.

While this may not be news that will bring the crowds at Grand Central Station to a standstill should it be bellowed out by a passing town crier but, as a user-friendly update to a game, it’s a lovely little addition. One which, hopefully, many other developers will choose to implement – it just seems sensible.

The new browser, which cannot be used to access pages outside of Blizzard’s support database, was announced through a post the game’s site: “We’re adding a feature-limited web browser to World of Warcraft that will replace the in-game support system with a direct portal to the Battle.net Support site. Our aim is to give players in-game easy access to the site’s robust knowledge base and support contact system.”

Cheers, WoWHead.
