Bethesda have worked with Escalation before, as the studio helped create Doom’s SnapMap level editor.

“We have continually been impressed with the team at Escalation that Tom [Mustaine] and Marc [Tardif] have assembled,” said Bethesda’s VP of development Todd Vaughn.

“Their commitment to quality and innovation has made significant contributions to the projects we’ve worked on together, and we’re excited to have them join ZeniMax.”

We’ve already been told that Fallout 4 is being built again to support VR, so perhaps Escalation will be helping polish that project up.

Elsewhere in ZeniMax’s VR pursuits, the company is currently in an ongoing legal battle with Oculus.
