Creative Assembly appear to be developing a second multi-platform AAA game in the wake of their success with Alien: Isolation. A job listing for a programmer has been advertised, seeking someone to work on a PC game as well as PS4 and PC.
Those platforms and the AAA “blockbuster” mokier certainly suggests something within the Alien: Isolation mould. But is it a new Alien game, or something new entirely?
The job advert seeks an online/multiplayer programmer with “experience of development on XB1, PS4 and PC platforms”, near enough confirming that what the studio is working on will have a multiplayer mode.
“We are seeking a talented programmer has thorough experience developing a range of online features,” says the advert. “We are creating another multi-platform AAA blockbuster and the successful applicant will be part of a team which allows our game experience to be shared.”
There’s always the potential that this could be an Alien: Isolation sequel, for which “the plot for a sequel is a daily topic in the studio sometimes” according to lead designer Gary Napper. But since Isolation was a grand demonstration Creative Assembly’s inventive muscles, perhaps the studio has another equally unique idea in the pipeline?
