Ubisoft are selling $60,000, 18-carat gold Assassin’s Creed Origins headphones

Assassin's Creed Origins

Ubisoft have announced some (very) limited edition goodies to celebrate the release of Assassin’s Creed Origins. The game’s themed Utopia headphones are 18-carat gold, and will set you back nearly $60,000.

Here’s everything we know about Assassin’s Creed Origins.

If, despite the price tag, those still appeal, then you’d better move quickly. There are only ten of the headphones available, and you can only pick them up at the Tournaire boutique in Paris. They’re on sale for a cool €50,000.

If you’re still not feeling the pinch after all that then Ubisoft have found a way to claim some more of your money. What headphones are complete without a stand to hang them on, right? Thankfully, Ubisoft and Tournaire have you covered on that front too – for an extra $14,000 you can get a bronze bust of the game’s protagonist, Bayek, built to scale to flaunt your dangerously expensive headwear.

But what does all that money actually get you? How could anyone in their right mind consider charging the cost of a mid-tier sports car for a pair of headphones? Well, according to Ubisoft’s press release, as well as the 18-carat gold, you can rest safe in the knowledge that your headphones have been developed by experts in both the jewelry and sound engineering markets.

If, for whatever reason, the Utopia headphones don’t appeal, you could also grab the more affordable Assassin’s Creed Origins ‘Listen’ headphones. Those are available for a far more modest £199 via the Ubisoft Store.
