Battlefield 4 Second Assault DLC to feature four favourite BF3 maps remade in Frostbite 3

Day One DLC it may be, but this Assault isn’t likely to be your second, third or even fourth in the company of Battlefield 4. It’s scheduled as a timed exclusive for the Xbox One version of the game, due a little while after our October 29 PC release date. Frankly, we’ll be lucky to get it by Christmas.

Still: DICE have confirmed that the map pack will eventually decouple itself from the new console and drift our way, so let’s have a speculative rummage in its box.

Battlefield gameplay designer Alan Kertz named Operation Firestorm and Caspian Border as fan favourites in a tweet yesterday, but didn’t offer any conclusive thoughts as to the other two slots. It’s difficult to argue with the sheer weight of player numbers behind Metro, however.

Fingers crossed DICE will infuse some of Frostbite 3’s new functionality into the old maps. I imagine Metro would prove far less divisive (and far more changeable) if it played host to game-reshaping cave-ins and whatnot:

What would you like to see in there?

Thanks, Shacknews.
