Improved mouse support and FOV options patched into Bioshock remasters

Not to leave their new Bioshock remasters to rot beneath the ocean, 2K have released patches for both games, bringing a bunch of fan-requested features to the PC versions of the polished classics.

As revealed last month, this new patch aims to fix a host of feedback-related issues with the game, mainly to do with mouse smoothing and FOV options. You’d think a limited FOV in Bioshock 2 – where you play as a Big Daddy – would help with immersion, but then I suppose you’re already sufficiently immersed if you’re wondering around Rapture.

Anyway, enough of that – here are those patch notes:

Bioshock: The Collection – Bioshock 1 patch notes

  • FOV is now adjustable from 75 to 130 in the Graphics Options menu.
  • 21:9 resolutions are now available. UI supports two modes (stretch or centered) at these resolutions.
  • Resolved several graphical issues on Nvidia hardware.
  • New graphics options available for lower-end machines.
  • Mouse button 4 and 5 assignments fixed.
  • Mouse icon size is now adjustable and will scale with resolution.
  • Several improvements have been made to mouse sensitivity, threshold, and buffering.
  • Settings will no longer automatically reset on improperly shutting down Bioshock.
  • Speaker mode should now be selectable from the Audio Options menu.
  • Fixed an initialisation bug with audio system.
  • Miscellaneous bug fixes.
