Birmingham’s GAME store will be guarded by the Birmingham Armoury tonight – staff from that most rare of UK retailers, a gun shop. I think it’s mostly for show, though; 318 others will be open for Black Ops 2’s midnight launch without military detail.
Eurogamer report that Birmingham Bull Ring’s GAME launch will feature men and women in military regalia, alongside stores in Westfield Stratford and Shepherd’s Bush.
London outlets will dress their first 25 buyers in goodie bags, while GAME St Austell has a mutiplayer pre-play event planned for pre-orderers at White River Cinema at 10pm.
GAME Belfast, meanwhile, will host a guest DJ, ice hockey team the Belfast Giants and a visiting tank. You wouldn’t get one of those past the bollards on Sheffield’s Fargate, let me tell you.
Will you be heading out later today to queue for launch? PC gamers have the option to stay indoors and refresh Steam, you know.
Not in the UK? That’s fine too. Here’s when Black Ops 2 PC will be unlocked, region by region.
