Black Ops 2: Uprising DLC footage released alongside double-act guff

Activision’s cheekily irresponsible live-action shorts have returned for Black Ops 2’s latest map pack, Uprising. If you somehow missed the TV spots last time, you’ll grasp the gist soon enough: stone-cold chiller The Replacer is employed to keep the domestic wheels of Call of Duty players’ lives turning while they work on their K/D ratio, and this time has brought a friend. Laugh as the pair carry out the jobs Activision have determined are held down by the median Call of Duty player. Tee hee! Chortle as the Replacers humour the love interests of their invariably heterosexual absentee boyfriends. Ho ho!

But more importantly, play close attention to the new map footage buried around the trailer’s midpoint, and check out Treyarch’s Behind the Scenes look at Alcatraz-set Zombies map Mob of the Dead.

In Mob of the Dead, players will fight as four mobsters made infamous during the Prohibition, each voiced and faced by a familiar Hollywood gangster. Meet Billy Handsome (Ray Liotta), Al ‘The Weasel’ Arlington (Joe Pantoliano), Salvatore ‘Sal’ DeLuca (Chazz Palmentiri), and Michael ‘Finn’ O’Leary (Michael Madsen).

As these four celebrity nasties, players will be tasked with piecing together a plane to escape from an Alcatraz now thick with the undead. New zombie types abound, alongside an Afterlife mode, Civil War weaponry and an authentic Prohibition-era HUD. New perk Electric Cherry, meanwhile, sees zombies zapped with electricity upon reload.

Elsewhere, Uprising features four PvP maps: ‘Magma’, ‘Encore’, ‘Studio’, and ‘Vertigo’.

All in all, it’s a properly packed update. It’s due out on Xbox on April 16, with a PC release to follow in shortly afterwards. Are you willing to play prisoner for Uprising?

Thanks, MP1st.
