The last piece of DLC for Black Ops 2 – Apocalypse – has been announced and will be on it’s way to PC soon(ish). Containing four new maps and a new zombies mission, Treyarch are promising that BLOPS2 is going to go out with a bang.
The new multiplayer maps include Pod, Frost, Takeoff, and Dig. Pod takes place in a failed utopian town, and offers distinct areas of long, mid, and short-range combat thanks to its streets and tiny housing pods. Frost sees some multi-level verticality introduced into a wintery-themed european city. Takeoff contains hints of the original Black Ops’ Stadium map, whilst Dig is an adaptation of the Courtyard map from World at War.
The new zombies mission – Origins – tells the very first story of CoD’s undead-themed universe, and is set in a ‘Dieselpunk’ World War 1, complete with clunky machine guns, metal-suited zombies, and a one-thousand-foot-tall robot that stomps through the fields of France.
In typical Call of Duty fashion, we on PC (as well as those guys on the PlayStation) are snubbed in favour of the Xbox clan due to some deal or something. Church of Microsoft attendees get Apocalypse on the 27th August, whilst we have to wait an unspecified amount of time until we can riddle these new maps with bullet holes. The moment we know when that time is, you’ll know too.
Thanks, VG247.
