Castlevania: Lords of Shadow coming to PC, finally

It may have taken its sweet time in getting here but a PC release of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow has finally been announced. Leaving the PS3 behind, the PC release boasts two extra game chapters, 60fps in 1080p, and full Steam integration.

Huzzah.

Castlevania is one of gaming’s oldest series, starting life on the NES back in 1987, but it’s always shied away from the PC, with only a few of the original games being ported onto our fair system in 2002 – 15 years after their console release. Lords of Shadow will mark the fastest port and also the most significant amount of effort on Konami’s part to get the series onto our platform.

When Castlevania: Lords of Shadow comes to PC on 27 August, it will come with two new chapters, Reverie and resurrection; Steam achievements, cloud saving, and full 1080p running at 60fps. All, very welcome additions.

From what I’ve heard, Lords of Shadows isn’t just a good reboot of the series but one of the best Castlevania games there is, and one of the best games on the PS3. I’m really excited to see how the game fares on the PC, particularly as I’ve had such a good time playing Darksiders (a game that was heavily influenced by the Castlevania games).

Cheers, Eurogamer.
