Acting as the prequel to the original Crypt of the NecroDancer, its amped up DLC pack is now available for purchase on Steam, bringing with it a new character, a new zone and 20 new tracks to frantically jump and stab to the beat of. The initial Early Access release comes with new vampiric protagonist Nocturna, with at least one more character, new gameplay modes and items to be added during the Early Access period.

To help Nocturna explore this new part of the Crypt, Brace Yourself have added familiars which aid you in battle as you dance your way through zone after zone. As music is so integral to Crypt of the NecroDancer, AMPLIFIED adds 20 brand new tracks, a special remixed OST courtesy of the musicians over at OverClocked ReMix, alongside additional remixes from the composers of the original soundtrack, including FamilyJules, virt and A_Rival.
Brace Yourself have stated that the DLC is set to be in Early Access for roughly two months, with it coming out later if they have substantial community feedback which helps them add new features to Crypt of the NecroDancer: AMPLIFIED. The studio “monitor[s] all channels and will interact with you and read your feedback”, stating that “some of the best community ideas will make it into the game, and we’ll pay close attention to bug reports and gameplay balance suggestions.” If you have a particularly good idea for AMPLIFIED, make your voice heard and it could end up in the final release.
As AMPLIFIED is DLC, you will need the Crypt of the NecroDancer in order to play it. Crypt of the NecroDancer: AMPLIFIED goes for $6.99/£4.99 during Early Access and will not go up in price upon its full release. The original Crypt of the NecroDancer is currently available for $14.99/£10.99.
