You can scan people in Cyberpunk 2077, Watch-Dogs-style

cyberpunk 2077 abilities

Thanks to optical implants, your character in Cyberpunk 2077, who we know goes by the name V, can study people and see their level, job, and affiliation.

It sounds like the mechanic will work a lot like it does in Ubisoft’s open-world hacker game Watch Dogs. In that game, you are able to hack nearby phones and learn about the NPCs that fill the streets around you.

In Cyberpunk 2077, the same optical implants can be used to scan for entrances and access points and more. This should help you out if there are any missions in the game that ask you to track people across the city or to infiltrate certain buildings. As well as their role the citizen has in this dystopian future, the implant shows what level the person is, too.

These implants might mean Cyberpunk has stealth sections. How will it compare to the best stealth games on PC.

The news came from a Game Informer impressions piece, where they were shown V walking through a world and seeing words like “junkie” and “bodyguard” appear above the heads of people she passed.

The recent Deus Ex games had something similar to this with its range of eye augmentations. One of them, called Smart Vision, let protagonist Adam Jensen see beyond a human’s normal range of vision – he could essentially see walls and track targets in the process.

Anyway, we still don’t know the Cyberpunk 2077 release date but we’re hearing tons about how it will work.
