Bandi Namco have spilled the beans on their up and coming ultimate version of Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin. Inside their new FAQ is details on system requirements for the new DirectX 11 version, feature list and most importantly, pricing.

So what’s inside the “ultimate” Dark Souls II package? Well, the graphics, sound and performance have all been improved thanks to the implementation of DirectX 11. They’ve also messed around with the enemy placement and map layouts, to surprise even the most veteran Souls player. New weapons and armour will be made available to claim, but only if you can overcome the addition of new, deadly NPC invaders. But even if you can’t, you can now bring in up to six friends online, to help you out. All past DLC will be included in the package too.
OK, so that sounds rather good right? Next up is system requirements, which due to the upgraded engine, have been bumped up slightly. Here’s the requirements for the DirectX 11 version of the game:

- CPU: Intel Core i3 2100 3.1GHz / AMD A8 3870 3.6GHz
- Memory: 4GB RAM

- Network: Broadband Internet Connection
- Hard Drive: 23GB available space
- Sound Card: DirectX11 sound device
- Additional Notes: Controller support: Microsoft Xbox 360 Controller for Windows (or equivalent) recommended
Recommended Specifications:

Did you pass? Great! But there’s one more boss before you can start to celebrate. Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin will cost varying amounts depending on what DirectX version you want, and if you own the original game and any of its DLC. Here’s how it works out:
- Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin (DirectX9): $39.99
- Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin (DirectX11): $49.99
- DirectX11 Upgrade price for existing owners of Dark Souls II on Steam: $29.99
- DirectX11 Upgrade price for existing owners of Dark Souls II and all DLC on Steam: $19.99
Here’s where it gets a bit tricky. Players of both the DirectX 9 and DirectX 11 will not be able to play with on another, so you’ll need to double check with your friends to make sure there’s no issues.
