You may remember that Epic has been giving away free games over this holiday period. First, it was 12 days of free games, then a welcome, yet surprising, 13th day. But here comes Epic’s 14th day of goodies, and this time with not one, but three free games.
Right now you can go and collect Darksiders, Darksiders II, and Steep, all for the low, low price of nothing from the Epic Games Store! How wonderful. Even if you got coal in your stocking this year, it seems that the Fortnite developer has your back. Be quick though, as these three games will only be around until January 9, at which point their prices will become infinitely steeper, literally.
Over these last couple of weeks some of the games offered for free by Epic have been Celeste, Into the Breach, and even Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair, but once they were gone, they were gone. Don’t worry, however, as they may come back at a later date, we just have to keep our fingers and toes crossed.
If you’re unfamiliar with the free games this week, the Darksiders series is based around the four horsemen of the apocalypse. In the first game, you play as War, and in the second as Death, but both hack-and-slash adventures make you feel pretty invincible.
And Steep? The extreme sports game came out in 2016, shoving you down a mountain at high speeds armed with only a pair of skis and your own questionable skill. It’s a safer way to see if you like skiing, snowboarding, or paragliding, from the comfort of your own home. Or maybe you just want to see the Alps in all their mountain-y goodness.
All three of these games are currently free, so you don’t have anything to lose in trying them out. If these don’t tickle your fancy, then there are other free games out there you might want to try.
