The studio say the game takes inspiration from Dark Souls, Monster Hunter, and World of Warcraft. It’s essentially free-to-play Monster Hunter on PC.

Dauntless takes players to the Shattered Isles, a sci-fi land where massive creatures called Behemoths are a constant threat.

You play as a Slayer, sworn to protect mankind from these massive monsters, either on your own or in a team of up to four.

The developers say you’ll need to forge and upgrade your weapons, kitting yourself out with the right kit for the job if you want to succeed.

It’s coming out this year, perhaps sooner than you think. Phoenix Labs have just released the system requirements.
