We all got a little excited last week when Square Enix filed for a trademark for Deus Ex: Human Defiance, thinking it could be the title of a follow-up to the excellent Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Unfortunately it would seem this is not the case and instead the trademark is linked to the film adaptation that is currently in the works.
Disappointing details below.
The link between the new trademark and the film project was spotted by the ever-inquisitiveSuperannuation, “Deus Ex: Human Defiance is the title of the Deus Ex movie, not a sequel to Human Revolution” he then linked to two recently registered domains deusex-humandefiance.comanddeusexhumandefiancefilm.com. Both the domains were registered with the administrative andtechnical contact set as CBS Films, the company hard at work on the Deus Ex movie.
Bah humbug, I was really hoping we’d finally get to start hearing a little more about that those folk with cybernetic swards in their arms and sunglasses implanted into their face.
