Deus Ex: Mankind Divided gets down and dirty in Dubai in new gameplay trailer

Deus Ex

A short new gameplay trailer has been released for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, showing the upcoming immersive sim running on PC.

The video’s pretty short, but we get to see Adam Jensen take his sharp beard to some goons in Dubai, deploying the Icarus Landing System and dropping to the floor like the coolest prick around, also punching some dudes, punching a wall, and a bunch of other manly, robot-y stuff.

Whoever is demoing the game is pretty aggressive. The first guy goes down with a punch, and ‘merciful soul’ flashes up on the screen, just before Jensen fires one of his elbow chisels at a man’s face and shoots a guy in the back of the head with a revolver.

If you squint at the start of the gunfight near the end, you’ll get a glimpse of an augmented enemy using their powers, which could well be more prevalent in this sequel.

To be honest, I’m completely sold on the game already. Immersive sims are under-served, despite their consistency, and I hope this and Dishonored 2 sell bucket loads and spark some sort of trend. Publishers, let’s replace open worlds with games like this. Okay? Ta.

Anyway, here’s the video:
