Diablo 3’s Season 5 kicks off on January 15th, and it’s bringing a solid sack of changes and new features. Most exciting are the new class sets, and they come with a guarantee that all players will pick up a complete set, so you can start the new year in snazzy style.
If you’re looking to team up and take out some baddies, you need to jump on the best co-op games on PC.
The recent patch 2.4.0 update detailed that Season Legendaries are being removed, and that by Chapter 4 of the Season Journey you’ll have earned a full class-set. The set can only be earned once, and will be mailed to your account, so the character who opens the mail will dictate what class set is inside. Be careful when opening, basically. The sets available this season are:
- Barbarian: Might of the Earth
- Crusader: Thorns of the Invoker
- Demon Hunter: The Shadow’s Mantle
- Monk: Monkey King’s Garb
- Witch Doctor: Raiment of the Jade Harvester
- Wizard: Firebird’s Finery
Conquests have been updated, and the new challenge is the Masters of the Universe / Masters of Sets. Complete eight different Set Dungeons to grab some neat rewards. The Thrill / Super Human conquest has been re-jigged and now must be completed without using any class set items at all. Ancient and Legendaries will be essential to making it through alive.
Cosmetic rewards on offer will be Portrait Frames, pieces of the Conqueror’s Transmogrification set, a pair of wings, an exclusive pennant, and a non-combat Wickerman pet.
One of the most interesting elements of Season 5 is the Rebirth system, which allows you to change any non-Seasonal character you have into a Seasonal one. Naturally since Seasons is all about starting fresh, this character will be stripped of everything they own and reduced to level 1. But if you wanted to use a character and preserve their name and played-time, then you can. Three characters can be rebirthed per season, and fallen Hardcore characters are not eligible.
Diablo Season 5 will last three months. You can read the full preview at the Diablo blog.
