Diablo 3 patch 1.0.7a is out, means less bug-induced Arcane Power for Wizards

Diablo 3 1.0.7a went live in the Americas about 16 hours ago, and has since been trundling out across the game’s European and Asian clients. It means good things for players who prefer their play uninterrupted by crashes or showstopping bugs, but potentially bad things for those of a Wizarding persuasion who’ve been enjoying an overgenerous proportion of arcane power.

I’m reminded of Terry Pratchett’s Discworld, in which wizards are rendered busy and useless by academia lest they become too good at their craft and bring about the apocalypse. Blizzard apparently subscribe to the same approach, having fixed a bug which saw Wizard’s granted double Arcane Power in certain scenarios. Find out precisely what’s changed below:

  • Fixed an issue introduced in 1.0.7 that caused: Archon Disintegration Wave, Disintegrate, Energy Twister, Meteor and Ray of Frost to grant double the amount of Arcane Power when Arcane Power on Crit triggered
