Online character profiles coming to Diablo 3

There was a poster in my school’s CSPE class that depicted a cool teenager riding a bicycle with no hands, below which was the caption “show offs get hurt”. I wanted to be that cool teenager, so I subsequently rode my bike around town handlessly and without consequence. Show offs don’t get hurt, they get appreciative cheers. Now Blizzard are about to let you show off your Diablo 3 character profiles with ease. Prepare your cheerholes, because they’re about to get filled.

The Diablo 3 blog reveals the upcoming feature, which will allow players to peruse their own heroes (as well as everybody else’s) from any page on the Diablo 3 website. “If you’re curious about the exploits of your fellow forum posters,” Blizzard suggest, “it’ll be a simple matter to click over to their profiles and feel envious of their gear or how long they’ve managed to keep their Hardcore characters alive.”

The first release of the online profile will host a career tab showing your playtime stats alongside a heroes tab showing your equipment, attributes and skills. Coming later are tabs displaying your artisans’ skills levels and your achievements.

The update to the Diablo 3 website is coming “sooner rather than later”, whatever that means.
