Evade a war of the worlds in Orphan

Indie developer Windy Hill Studio has submitted its current project to Steam Greenlight, and it’s quite the looker. Orphan uses stark black silhouettes against beautiful backdrops to tell the story of a (presumably parent-less) boy escaping the stampede of alien machines that have landed on earth.

It’s Limbo meets H.G Wells. And we’re just fine with that.

You can drop a ‘Yes’ vote on Orphan over at its Steam Greenlight page if it captures your attention.

Windy Hill don’t offer up much to explain how Orphan will play other than the trailer and a list of 2D platformer influences including Another World, the original Oddworld games, and PS4’s Journey. There will be combat in the game though, with each alien machine having unique weaknesses, and the ability to turn their guns against them.

Orphan has a targeted release date of December 2015. Plenty of time for Windy Hill to get approval on Greenlight, then.
