Eve now has a fully customisable colourblind mode

Eve colourblind

If, like me, you’re one of the 8% of the male population (the number is lower for women, though still significant) who are colourblind, I have some good news for you: Eve now has colourblind options.

Though it doesn’t offer the best solution – changing both icons and colours – this tweak at least lets those affected by colour blindness fully customise the UI to suit their needs.

Personally, I have Deuteranopia, which is “red & green” colour blindness. Contrary to popular belief, it doesn’t mean I can’t see red and green, it just means I see them differently to how you do.

I have particular trouble with red dot sights in shooters, because they are hard to track when against foliage. I also struggle distinguishing between purple and dark blue, because of the red in purple.

It’s a massive pain, basically, but it’s good to see CCP taking it seriously. Head to the Eve announcement post to read about the development process.
