F1 Race Stars features creepy bobble-heads, looks like Trackmania-style arcade fun

Formula One? Formula Fun, more like! Funmula Fun? No. F1 Race Stars is an officially licensed F1 game from Codemasters (now Codemasters Racing) starring the sport’s most notable drivers, albeit in chibi form. That is, they’ve got giant heads, tiny bodies and adorable miniature cars, replete with teensy multi-million dollar sponsorships. F1 Race Stars looks quite a bit like Trackmania (sans editing tools) which is not a bad thing. It is, in fact, a very good thing. There’s a trailer to watch, inside.

Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso, Sebastian Vettel, Romain Grosjean (who has the best hair in Formula One), Nico Rosberg and Bruno Senna are all confirmed, as are some iconic tracks such as Monaco and Silverstone. They’ve all been toonified, adding ridiculous loops, Mario Kart-style power ups, nonsense jumps and all sorts of silly things that would reduce racing purists to gibbering, unbelieving wrecks.

You can point your eyes at some F1 Race Stars screenshots on the game’s official page, if you don’t mind those bobble-headed drivers entering your darkest nightmares.
