Fallout 76 bow location: how to get the compound bow in the Wastelanders update

Here's how to upgrade your run of the mill bow in the Wastelands update to the compound bow, for all your stealthy needs

What is the location of the compound bow in Fallout 76? The latest Wastelanders update is now live in Fallout 76 adding a series of new weapons, locations, enemies, and of course NPCs. The Wastelanders patch notes detail the extensive list of all the bug fixes, story changes, and new content you can expect to find in Fallout 76.

If you’re already busy exploring Wastelanders’ new content, you may have your eye on the new weapons, specifically – the new compound bow in Fallout 76. Well, you’ll have to delve a little deeper into Wastelanders’ content and spend some time developing your reputation with the NPCs.

Although you’ll have access to a standard bow in Fallout 76 by purchasing a blueprint from Sunny’s Store at Foundation, it’s not quite the compound bow, but here’s a handy guide on how to upgrade your bow in Fallout 76.

Fallout 76 compound bow location

Staying in Foundations, the new NPC settlement added as part of the Wastelanders update, you’ll need to work on your reputation with the Settlers who live in Foundation. You’ll need to work your way through the ranks of Cautious, Cooperative, Friendly, and Neighbourly – until you reach the Ally rank. This can take some time, but it’s the only way you’ll be able to get the compound bow in Fallout 76 and additional modding capabilities.

To improve your reputation and increase your rank the best advice is to be a nice guy to the new Settlers. Certain story quests and daily faction quests will bolster your reputation – just make sure not to kill any Settlers, as this will really hinder your chances at getting that bow.

You can track your progress through the social menu until you can finally purchase the bow from Sunny’s Store once Ally rank has been reached.
