Far Cry 4’s “Escape from Durgesh Prison” DLC to hit in January; will feature perma-death

Far Cry 4 Escape from Durgesh Prison

Ubisoft have let the cat out of the bag about Far Cry 4’s first DLC: Escape from Durgesh Prison, which will arrive on January 13th 2015. It tasks the player with, surprise surprise, a prison break. Where it gets interesting however, is the fact you’ll be on the clock the entire time. Further more – if you wind up dead or recaptured, you’ll have to start the entire thing all over again.

Main protagonist Ajay and his friend Hurk find themselves locked away, without weapons or gear, inside Durgesh Prison. Players will then be tasked to complete a series of challenges, all of which are time based, in order to retrieve their possessions and break out of jail.

The DLC can be played either solo or with a friend in co-op. But even with a friend, Ubisoft say this mission will be a “difficult” affair. “To ramp up the challenge, when players die they must start the mission over again and use the knowledge and skills they gained during their previous run through to help them reach their extraction point successfully,” Ubisoft stated.

You’ll be able to pick up Escape from Durgesh Prison for $10, otherwise it’s included in the games season pass. In the meantime though, check out our Fraser and Matt having a little chat about Far Cry 4; it’s hot stuff.

Cheers Gamespot!
