A new Fortnite map is “not a priority” for Epic Games. In an interview with IGN’s Expert Mode, lead designer Eric Williamson, said that the team were not working on a new map.

Williamson says that while the concept of more battle royale maps has been discussed, the team’s focus is on improving the map they already have; “There’s no urgency to create a new map right now, it’s not something we’re getting a sense of urgency for. It’s not a priority right now.”
What Williamson says is more important is “continuing to evolve and make the map feel fresh.” He also encourages players to keep a look out for changes to the map, suggesting further updates in the coming weeks.
Those changes could come sooner than you might expect. Throughout the past few weeks, a comet has been hanging ominously over Fortnite’s map, and it looks as though it’s heading for Tilted Towers. That might just be related to the upcoming Fortnite Impact mode, but it’s also possible that Epic plan to level Fortnite’s deadliest killzone and replace it with other points of interest spread more evenly over the map.
