The latest Fortnite update heralds Valentines-themed skins and the Cupid Crossbow

Fortnite Valentines update

It’s February, so capitalism decrees that we spend too much on faux-romantic tat love is in the air. And what better way to express that love than via the media of battle royale? With that in mind, Epic has you covered – Valentines is coming to Fortnite.

Strap yourself in – the next wave of battle royale games is coming.

The latest patch, which goes live today, brings two new skins, a new glider, and a new weapon to the game. The skins, to be quite honest, are terrifying; one of them depicts a disinterested, eyeless, but apparently sentient statue, which is about the last thing I want to see when cowering in my shoddily-assembled wooden fortress. Or it would be, if the demonic pink bear onesie that accompanies it wasn’t also in the update.

Thankfully the new glider is decidedly more wholesome, with one of those cutesy teddy-bears holding a heart to facilitate your departure from the battle bus. Finally, there’s a new weapon, the crossbow, offering a stealthier approach while also letting you pretend to be some sort of deadly Cupid-figure.

Elsewhere, the patches for both Battle Royale and Save the World are pretty light, with a smattering of bug fixes, as well as hints of what’s to come in future patches. The update is available now, so start knocking up those love arrows.
