How do you fancy being an Indonesian shaman (known as a dukan)? No training necessary. All you have to do is strap a virtual reality headset to your face and you can be summoning spirits in no time. Just, uh, don’t expect them to be friendly ghosts – this isn’t Casper.
DreadEye VR is a new virtual reality game from the makers of horror game series DreadOut. It has you sitting in your shaman hut combining ingredients as part of an ancient ritual. Almost sounds therapeutic – but this ritual opens the game to the spirit realm and lets you commune with the dead.
If you’ve played DreadOut you’ll know that the ghosts of Indonesian folklore that feature in the series aren’t the type to sit beside you and whisper sweet nothings in your ear. They’d rather devour babies and drink blood. Lovely. You’ll get to meet them up close in DreadEye VR as they leer towards you, with the only action you can take being to endure their horrific dance around you…
Fancy a scary trip inside a VR headset, then? If you do, you’re in luck, as not only is DreadEye VR now available to purchase on Steam, we’re giving away 25 Steam keys for it. To be in with a chance of winning one you’ll need to enter the competition via the widget below.
