Nobody’s asking to be friends, but continued co-existence seems like a nice, bare bones ideal to live by, doesn’t it? GAME seem to think so – they’re to become the first brick-and-mortal retailer in the UK to stock Steam Wallet Codes. They say the deal “heralds the dawn of the retailer’s increased offering for PC gamers”.

Steam Wallet Codes will be sold as physical boxes in-store at increments of £5, £10, £20 and £50. With that, you’ll be given a receipt printed with a code ready for use. Games can be traded in against them and customers will earn in-store points with Steam Code purchases, a tweet has confirmed.

Company head Martyn Gibbs said GAME and Valve are making efforts to “grow our PC gaming communities together”.
“The partnership forms a significant part of our increased offering for any PC gamer which will also include a full digital catalogue available on tablets in store to browse and new ways to pay for digital downloads, making the process easier and more secure than ever.”
Valve business development boss Jason Holtman added: “GAME is the leading retailer of gaming content in the UK – one of the world’s largest gaming markets. By making Steam Wallet codes available at GAME, we are together delivering more purchasing options for gamers.”
The deal can only mean nice things for all parties involved, us PC gamers included. Will you be getting a close friend or relative a Steam Wallet Code box for Christmas? Steam is a solid now, don’tcha know.

Thanks, Eurogamer.
