Hunt the Predator in Ghost Recon Wildlands, either solo or in co-op

Update, December 13: The Predator is indeed coming to Ghost Recon Wildlands, as part of a special event starting tomorrow.

It bleeds, so you can kill it – but it won’t be easy. The Predator (who you may know from his feature film, Predator) is coming to Ghost Recon Wildlands as part of a special event starting December 14 and running to early January. This will be available to all players for free. You can take on the alien hunter either solo or in co-op, and Ubisoft promise this will be the most difficult fight in the entire game.

Here’s our Ghost Recon Wildlands PC review.

If you manage to take down the Predator you’ll get some appropriate new items, including a Predator mask featuring the hunter’s thermal vision abilities. There’s also a Predator Pack featuring 15 new customisation items, weapons, and a new melee move.

While it appears Schwarzenegger’s likeness won’t be in the game, you will be getting a new class for Ghost War PvP based on his character Dutch, who can engage in a Battle Rage mode. This class will be available as part of the Ghost War Pass or Season Pass, or purchasable with Prestige points directly.

The Predator event is in promotion of the Jungle Storm update launching for Wildlands tomorrow, which introduces ranked play and the new Pathfinder class for Ghost War, as well as “gear and gameplay updates” for both the base game and PvP.

You can get a more detailed look at the new event at Ubisoft’s Twitch channel, which will shortly be streaming a more thorough look at 12:00 EST.

Original Story, December 13:It looks like The Predator is coming to Ghost Recon Wildlands. A trailer for upcoming event The Hunt all but confirms the arrival of Schwarzenegger’s greatest foe to Ubisoft’s Bolivian sandbox.

The Hunt will be revealed in a stream on Ubisoft’s Twitch channel today at 12:00 EST, and other than the hints provided in the slightly terrifying trailer, which you can watch above, there’s not much to go on. I’d guess, however, that The Hunt will be some sort of Evolve-style 4v1 game modes, with one player working as The Predator against four players working together to bring them down.

It’s worth noting that we don’t know for sure that The Hunt will include The Predator itself, but if you’ve seen the 1987 movie, you’ll recognise the sound effects, and logo text used in the trailer, as well as the unique fear of four men trapped in the jungle with an unseen, murderous creature.

The Hunt is due to go live on December 14, along with the game’s Jungle Storm update. That’ll add extra game modes, new map, and ranked PvP to Ghost Recon Wildlands.
