History repeats itself, they say, and they always mean the worst bits. So it is today, which sees us promised the very worst of Rockstar tradition – a delayed PC version of Grand Theft Auto 5.
Pre-order artwork designed to be propped up outside retailers has been uncovered by Neogaffers, revealing a vague release window of Spring 2013.
You’ll notice, however, that there’s a bloody great Twitter hashtag plonked between the Xbox and PS3 logos where the PC or dread ‘Games for Windows Live’ symbol should be.
Given series precedent, I hope you’re wearing your best waiting boots; we’re here for the long haul. I wouldn’t expect to see GTA 5 on PC anytime earlier than next summer.
But! Stay positive. Series precedent has also typically seen Grand Theft Auto arrive on PC flush with new features, ranging from custom radio playlists to proper aiming. And I still hold out hope that this fine slice of history will repeat itself for GTA 5.
Thanks, Eurogamer.
