See GTA V through the eyes of the Oculus Rift with this virtual reality mod

GTA V Oculus Rift Mod

A bunch of modders have gotten GTA V to work with the latest Oculus Rift DK 2, allowing players to use the virtual reality to simulate life in Los Santos. Although Rockstar haven’t provided any official support for the device themselves, modders have been able to use the Oculus Rift by using a third-party program called VorpX, which allows the Oculus Rift to be used within many of today’s games.

The mod is only possible thanks to a program called VorpX – a third-party program that offers VR functionality within most games. In combination with the FoV fix, players can get a crude VR experience working within GTA V, although it’s not optimised: only offering camera support.

If you have an Oculus Rift development kit, you can get the mod working with the video tutorial below. Although be careful, as it does involve manipulating the game memory, and it’s not clear if it would earn yourself a ban in online play.

If not, then you can catch up with our latest GTA V coverage, including our review in progress, as well as our exciting live blog.
