The next installment of ArenaNet’s four part Flame and Frost story series will arrive on February 26th. In this episode, players must rally together to stop the “gathering storm” and hold the lines in the foothills of the Shiverpeaks.

A new PvP map called “Spirit Watch” will also make its debut, alongside a rated PvP mode. Guild missions will be made available for guilds to earn Guild Merits to unlock further upgrades and rewards. Last but not least, you will finally be able to choose your own daily achievements, tailoring them to your playstyle.

The brand new PvP map, “Spirit Watch” is set in the “peaceful green vale, nestled between cliffside shrines to the Norn”. Players will fight for control of the Orb of Ascension. The orb will score your team bonus points if you can take it to the three shrines on the map.

Also new to PvP is the two team rated play. This pits two teams of equal average rating against each other for a “quick, intense” match. The ratings of each member will dynamically change depending on the results after the match is over.

Guild missions, say Arenanet, promote “coordinated group play” with missions ranging from “bounties to group puzzles”. By completing these missions, guilds will earn Guild Merits which can be spent to unlock “cool upgrades and rewards”.

The new daily achievements will see a further update with the long awaited ability to choose your own dailies. The idea behind it is that you can decide what dailies interest you the most, catering your experience to your liking.

How are you guys enjoying the Flame and Frost update so far?
