Blizzard compensate Heroes of the Storm players with additional xp boost event

Heroes of the Storm XP event

Blizzard officially launched their franchise-clashing MOBA earlier this month, and to celebrate, they gave players a weekly increasing experience booster. But due to an unforeseen error, causing the xp boost to end a day early – coupled with some bugs affecting EU players – Blizzard have decided to bring it back once again in early July for four extra days.

“In order to return some of this bonus time to you, we’re planning to offer an additional 100% XP Bonus event that will span an entire weekend.”

The Heroes of the Storm launch brought with it an extra experience boost, scaling from 25%, 50% and then finally 100% each week. But at the eve of the final day, the 100% experience boost ended a day early, causing some of the community to be disappointed.

But Blizzard took to the game’s forums today to announce a pretty nice compensation plan.

“As many of you are aware, our recent 100% XP Bonus event ended a day earlier than we had originally communicated.” said Blizzard. “We’ve seen quite a bit of disappointment over this, as well as a progression issue that affected players in Europe, and we’d like to apologize for any frustrations these things have caused. In order to return some of this bonus time to you, we’re planning to offer an additional 100% XP Bonus event that will span an entire weekend.”

The new 100% bonus experience event will start on Thursday, July 2nd at 13:00 PDT, and end on Monday, July 6th at 13:00 PDT. It will also affect all regions globally.
