Humble Origin Bundle tops $10 million, ends; “Thanks for helping make Humble Bundle history!”

A milli, a milli, a milli… You’d need to be, ooo, a good eight or nine seconds into Lil Wayne’s best song before you’d counted as many millions as the Humble Origin Bundle has just earned for six charities.

“The Humble Origin Bundle has closed with 2.1+ mil bundles sold & $10.5+ mil in sales!,” tweeted Humble yesterday evening. “Thanks for helping make Humble Bundle history!”

Which history is that, then? Take your pick. Either the footnote on the fastest-selling Humble Bundle ever, the paragraph on the most-made for charity, or the chapter on Humble’s confident leap into bed with big publishers, naysayers be damned.

The resulting cash will be raked up and split between the Human Rights Campaign, Watsi, the San Francisco AIDS Foundation, the American Red Cross, the American Cancer Society and GamesAid (though not quite evenly – the latter were latecomers).

Pledgers, for their part, are now the proud owners of soundtracks for Battlefield 3 and The Sims 3 (for any price), full versions of Burnout Paradise, Crysis 2, Mirror’s Edge, Dead Spaces 1 and 3 and Medal of Honor (for a dollar or more), plus Battlefield 3, The Sims 3, Populous and C&C: Red Alert 3 – Uprising (with an above-average donation of ~$5).

Where have you started with that pile? I’ve been delighted to discover that Mirror’s Edge’s sole DLC pack is present and correct on the Origin Store. Never quite got around to playing that.

Cheers, VG247.
