8-bit Game of Thrones platformer takes you north of the wall

GoT_8bit

There have been so far two Game of Thrones games since the series hit the big time thanks to HBO, both of which deserve to be defiled by Joffrey with that staff… thing. A third contender has entered the arena though, and it wins automatically thanks to its chiptune version of the show’s opening theme tune.

Game of Thrones: The 8-bit game is a fan-made platformer created by spanish comic writer Abel Alves. Its short running time covers the highlights of the show’s three seasons. There are four characters to play as; Jon Snow, Tyrion Lannister, Daenerys Targaryen and what appears to be Theon Greyjoy in a spoilerific season 3 homage (don’t watch the last 5 seconds of the trailer if you’re not up to speed).

Jon will be heading north of the wall with direwolf companion Ghost, whilst Daenerys takes on Pyat Pree in the House of the Undying.

You can download the 67MB game from Alves’ website.

Thanks, Eurogamer.
