Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime is a two-player co-op micro-platformer that tasks you and a real good bud with manning the guns of a day-glo spaceship. “In mish-mash terms,” say developers Asteroid Base, “you could describe it as Jumpman meets Asteroids meets Han saying ‘Don’t get cocky’.”
I’d say it’s more like FTL made by Terry Cavanagh. Or a militarised Numskulls. Or the future adventures of the Teletubbies, set loose post-environmental apocalypse to find a new home to colonise. Or what’s really going on inside a bath bomb.
Or the best turret sequence ever devised. Or a metaphor for McCarthyism. Or the fever dreams of Bobby Kotick. Or Disney’s Star Wars.
