Jet Set Radio Future and Mirror’s Edge have been at the hanky panky. The child’s not born yet but we’ve been sent a copy of the four month scan and, unlike most in-uterine baby videos I’ve seen, this is one to make you smile.

Hover: Revolt of Gamers is a colourful, cel shaded sports game that lets you leap and run over a futuristic city.

According to the developers, you’re “totally free in a large futuristic open world city”, left to learn tricks and the fastest routes through the world. You’ll need to “impress all the Gamers of the City doing crazy Triks and “Parkours” in order to recruit an impressive team and enroll in more serious missions to overthrow the tyranny.”

There’s always a tryanny, isn’t there? It is the future, after all.

“You will have to locate and infiltrate in the control centers of the anti-video games propaganda, free the citizens confined by the authorities, get back the consoles confiscated from the population, and finally dethrone the new Mayor at the origin of this whole mess.”

As you recruit gamers your team of playable characters expands. Each has a different set of stats and can be separately upgraded through training.

More importantly than all that is the multiplayer. Missions and challenges can be played co-operatively or your can just relax with friends, exploring the city together.

They’re working on Oculus Rift support, too.
