A Tale of Two Worlds is a beautiful platformer in the mould of Trine

Some smart French students have put together an alpha for their platformer A Tale of Two Worlds. It’s playable in your browser right now, and offers beautifully crafted puzzles cast from the same mould as Trine. The key difference here though is that replacing Trine’s three heroes is a pair of worlds – that of magic and of technology. Oh, and they’re also on screen at the same time.

As you can see in the trailer, the screen splits to divide the world between its two states, and altering the angle and height of the divide is key to solving puzzles.

The game, in development by Ahmed Majdoubi, is an entry to French newspaper Le Monde’s ‘Hits-Playtime’ competition. If the quality of other entries is anything close to that of A Tale of Two Worlds, we could be about to see a bunch of excellent little indies hit the web.
