Just Cause 3’s Sky Fortress expansion has a rocket-powered weaponised Bavarium Wingsuit, obviously

Sky Fortress, Just Cause 3’s first content pack, is heading our way next month, developers Avalanche Studios announced today. With it comes new missions, a “terrifying” sky fortress, an army of robots and a weaponised wingsuit, among other typically off-the-wall features.

So, this Bavarium Wingsuit seems pretty well kitted out. It’s fitted with shoulder-mounted machine guns, you see, and is equipped with automatic targeting missiles. What’s more, protagonist Rico Rodriguez now comes tooled up with a new “Eviction personal defense drone” and a “Bavarium Splitter” assault rifle. This might just get even more out of hand.

Here, take a look:

Those in possession of Just Cause 3’s Air, Land & Sea expansion pass can get to grips with all of the above one week prior to Sky Fortress’ release, before it goes on sale as a standalone download.

“If Just Cause 3 is over-the-top action then the Air, Land and Sea Expansion pass aims to stand on its shoulders and reach even higher,” says Avalanche’s senior producer Tobias Andersson. “An incredible amount of time has been spent ensuring every new item is fully integrated into the main game and can be used during existing missions. Rico’s new Bavarium Wingsuit will fundamentally alter the core gameplay of Just Cause 3 and we can’t wait to see the crazy stunts that players perform with it.”

Sky Fortress also includes new missions; and a second pack inclusive to the expansion pass – named Land Mech Assault – will add even more new missions with a new vehicle and a “heavily armoured mech armed with a gravity gun that allows objects to be picked up and powerfully thrown in any direction.” Standard Just Cause fare, it seems.

Due in “March 2016” Sky Fortress will cost $11.99/£9.49 on Steam. The expansion pass – which grants access to Sky Fortress, the aforementioned Land Mech and Assault, and a third expansion which we know nothing about except its name at this stage, Bavarium Sea Heist – costs $24.99/£19.99. All three expansions will have release by summer this year.
