The latest in a series of behind the scenes videos from Avalanche Studios takes us behind the explosions, wingsuiting and tethering cars to helicopters, giving us some insight into the studio’s design ethos.
I love stuff like this – it gives you a small glimpse into the giant workload that goes into making a game.
It’s nice to see Avalanche developers openly talk about how Just Cause has influenced the design of their other games. You can see it in Mad Max’s brilliant explosions, impossible draw distance and bad guy-tugging grappling hook. The cynic in me did ponder whether the studio were saving the best stuff for the big one.
The video also goes into a little detail about how the world and characters are sculpted and moulded. It’s short and sweet, but if you squint, you can see some new wingsuiting gameplay towards the end. Have a watch:
