What are all the exits in Killer Klowns from Outer Space The Game? As with any asymmetrical multiplayer game, the key is co-operation. With three killers and seven humans filling a lobby, both teams require solid teamwork in Killer Klowns from Outer Space. Depending on which team you’re on, it’s your mission to make it to, or stop humans reaching, any of the map’s exits. We made it through each of the escape methods alive so we could tell you how to do it.
As one of the seven human player characters in the match, your only method of success is getting the hell out of the multiplayer game. While Killer Klowns from Outer Space is unique in that you can actually kill the Klowns, they’re not out for long and respawn after 45 seconds, given you nothing more than a bit of a breather. So, as your only means of survival, here are each of the Killer Klowns from Outer Space exits and escape methods for you to familiarize yourself with.
The available escape methods in Killer Klowns from Outer Space are:
How Killer Klowns from Outer Space exits work
Almost every exit requires at least two items to open, such as a fuse or fuel, and you often need to remove cotton candy from the area, too. To clear the pink sticky stuff and use items, you must complete skill checks – or quick-time events, hitting set buttons at the right time. If you fail, a sound alert warns the Klowns of your location.
Each part of the process can be completed at any time. For example, if you find a fuse but no fuel, you might choose to place the fuse in the boat, ready for someone else to fill it with fuel. There is a risk that someone else may leave without you if they then start the boat, but you would earn XP for helping.
The other risk in completing part of the process is that you might use it on the wrong exit. Using the same example, you may find a second fuse having already placed one in the boat. With two, you could now open the bunker, but you can no longer get that first one back. Holding two, though, uses up two valuable inventory spaces, so it’s up to you to decide where your priorities lie.
It’s worth noting that a small icon appears over yours and your teammates’ heads when you hold an escape item, so you can easily team up with someone who has one item when you have the other.
How to find Killer Klowns exits
These exits all appear on every map, but they appear at random. On each map, there are multiple placed each of the exits can spawn. Eventually, you’ll get used to where they each can be, but you can always use the Meeting Point or a Compass to find them.
A few moments into each match, an icon for the meeting point appears. This point also changes each match, but gives humans a great place to team up, find great loot, and see the whereabouts of each exit. These markers only appear while you’re at the meeting point and for a brief time after you leave, but if you have the items to open an exit, you can always go via the meeting point to see the markers again.
Alternatively, you can use a compass to show the exit markers at any time. The compass is just a standard item that can be found around the map, though, so there’s no guarantee of finding one.
How to escape in the boat
The boat is one of the easiest escape methods, requiring one fuse and one can of fuel. Since the fuel can doesn’t require an inventory slot, it’s also super easy to carry alongside a fuse, weapons, and health items. While all escape methods appear in a random location each match, the other reason the boat is among the easiest is that it’s always on the edge of the map, and always near water, of course, narrowing your options down.
Only a maximum of three humans can escape via the boat. You can also leave alone, but once it’s gone, it’s gone, so you need to work out whether you want to take the selfish option or go back for others. You can always flag your location to your teammates using a flare, but if there’s a Klown hot on your heels, you might be better off leaving them to another exit and getting out of there while you can. Speaking of, once fuelled, the boat’s motor gives out a near-constant noise alert to the killer team, so you can guarantee they won’t be far away.
How to escape via the bridge
To open the bridge, you must have the gate key and any heavy weapon to smash through the wooden barricades. While this doesn’t sound like much, the key is fairly hard to find. Otherwise, the bridge might sound like an easy option, but you should bear in mind that this old and rotten crossing can only handle so much weight – including Klowns. Have too many players move onto the bridge too fast and the crossing will break, leaving it blocked for the rest of the match.
The trick to successfully using the gate is to have a few players nearby, one or two ready to attack nearby Klowns while another open the gate. This is mainly due to the fact that, regardless of whether you succeed in all of your skill checks, breaking the barricades is a noisy event and notifies killers either way.
There is only gate key to be found on the map, so you should hope that luck is on your side if you plan to leave this way. That said, a spectator may find a key by playing minigames, and they can choose to give it to a surviving human.
How to escape via the bunker
The bunker is located by a free-standing electronic door located somewhere in the main body of the map as opposed to the edge like those above. To unlock it, you need a can of fuel and a special keycard, a unique item which can be found in containers around the map. Once fuelled and with the keycard in hand, you can unlock the door for up to three humans to exit through. However, the door only remains open for 15 seconds. Like the boat, once fuelled, the door’s generator gives off a consistent noise alert to the killers.
An electronic display on the front of the door, once powered, shows whether the keycard has been entered, and how many humans have used the door, as well as how long is left on the timer. Once closed, this is also shown on the display above the door.
Only one keycard spawns on the map each match, so you have to be incredibly lucky to find it. However, there is a chance that a dead or escaped player can find one and gift it you from beyond the grave (or exit) by participating in spectator minigames.
How to escape via the portal
Finally, the portal requires just two fuses to activate. Of course, finding two is the difficult part, but you might have luck teaming up with someone else, as, again, this exit can save up to three humans.
With two fuses in place, you must complete an additional series of QTEs, or skill checks, to get the thing up and running. Whoever activates the portal must stay on the device until all other humans have passed through. When you then want to leave, let go and immediately head through the portal, as it will close after a few seconds.
How to escape via the Terenzi truck
The escape method offered by the movie’s Terenzi brothers is only an option just before the Klownpocalypse, which rapidly spreads across the map at the end of the match, killing all surviving humans instantly. Just 30 seconds before the end of the game, visible on the timer at the top of the screen, the brothers crash their ice cream truck at a random location along the edge of the map, leaving a hole through which you can vacate. There are no QTEs at this point as time is running out, you simply need to beat the Klowns to it.
The best way to prepare to escape via the Terenzi Truck is to head towards the rough center of the map just before the timer reaches 30 seconds, giving you the best chance of reaching the exit in time. You should also make sure to drink a can of energy drink if you can find one to keep your stamina and speed up all the way.
With each of these Killer Klowns from Outer Space escape options in mind, it just comes down to RNG – the random allocation of items and exits. As we talk about in our Killer Klowns from Outer Space review, this is only a good thing, giving the game a replayability and challenge not always found in its asymmetrical horror game competitors. Though you might want to utilize KKfOS voice chat to increase your chances of success.
