Riot are in the process of testing a new feature that will let you fly the colours of your favourite LoL team, provided they’re playing in the last stage of Season 3, the ten-week Summer Split. And if they’re not, why on Earth are you wanting to fly their colours?
The icons are already available in the PBE store; Riot plan to make them live for all shortly after the release of the game’s next patch. After that, they’ll be around until the end of the Summer Split in August. They’ll cost 250 RP each, and are permanently added to your account upon purchase.
20% of all revenue made on the icons will go straight to the chosen team, making this a means of directly funding your favourite pros. The rest will go towards Riot’s continuing efforts in expanding eSports – namely via prizes, venues and videos.
“As with any feature on the PBE, we’re looking for your feedback,” say Riot, “so let us know what you think and we’ll see you rocking some sweet new flair on the Fields of Justice.”
The new patch will also see summoner icons shown on the loading screen before each match, so they’ll be more prominent than ever. Are you tempted?
