League of Legends Android and iOS companion app released

League Friends

Riot Games have launched a free League of Legends companion app for iOS and Android that lets League players chat about jungling and all that other good stuff.

The app is free, League of Legends is free and so are the rest of the games in our picks of the best free PC games.

Rather than being a chat app for sending messages like “git gud scrub”, the idea is that teams will use it to organise team games on the go, and they can also receive notifications if their friends are online and looking to play.

“The app makes it easy to connect and plan play times with their best League buddies, and with more capabilities coming in the future to better connect the player community,” says the blurb. “The app lets you see your friends list, add new pals, and chat one-on-one at launch, but expect it to add features over time, evolving as League of Legends does.”

It’s out in North America today and will be rolled out in other regions over the coming weeks. Grab it on the App Store, or Google Play. Hopefully this will reduce instances of people on Twitter saying “Anyone for LoL?”
