League of Legends’ next big content patch is 7.22, introducing new health bars, as well as a host of balance and bug fixes. At the moment, those are focused on Evelynn, but there are also all the recurring changes we’ve seen over the last month or so to contend with, which you can find in a special section at the bottom of this post. LoL Patch 7.22 Release Date And Downtime

Patch 7.22 is due to arrive November 8. As ever, servers will go down for around three hours, starting at 03:00 PT for NA, 05:00 GMT for EUW, and 03:00 CET for EUNE.

LoL Patch 7.22 Balance Changes

That out of the way, let’s start with the really important bit, shall we? What you need to remember is that stuff on the PBE like this is neither guaranteed to happen, nor to be in the next patch even if it does. This is what the folks over at Riot are thinking about doing. We’ve got the numbers on what’s changing, and a general guideline on which way each champion, item, mastery, summoner spell or rune is moving.

    • Passive reset after taking damage decreased to 1.5 seconds from 4 seconds.
  • Whiplash (E):
    • Magic damage increased to 50/60/70/80/90% total AD from 30/45/60/75/90.
    • Empowered damage increased to 90/105/120/135/150% total AD from 60/80/100/120/140.

LoL Patch 7.22 Health Bar Changes

Patch 7.22 will see changes to the way information is conveyed through the game’s health bars. These changes aren’t hugely impactful by themselves, but the intent is to provide as much information as possible in the quickest way. The new system aims to highlight certain windows when you should (and shouldn’t) look to challenge your opponents. For example, when a champion has an extra life, due to a Zilean or Kindred ultimate, or a Guardian Angel, a small skull will appear next to their name. When their defenses are increased, a shield will appear, but when they’re lowered, that shield will be broken. Burst damage has also been highlighted, as has healing and tower or inhibitor destruction.

LoL Patch 7.22 Jungle Changes

Jungle camps will be getting a minor set of tweaks to the early game with the new patch. The most impactful of those are that catch-up experience is now only granted on Large or Epic monsters, and that camps will all now be worth a creep score of four, no matter how many monsters they actually contain. Second most important: cosmetics. Lovely, gorgeous cosmetics. Bit more of a visual medium this, so we’ve grabbed the best videos of each skin, as well as a lovely pic or two. Some are relatively simple changes, while others are total reworks of every part of the champion outside the gameplay numbers – new VO, new animations, new particles and the rest. LoL Patch 7.22 Login Screen

Each patch has its own login screen with unique music. They’re always fairly excellent, and 7.22’s is no exception. This time around, it features the preseason artwork, with Ezreal seeming to draw power from what might be the Inspiration rune path’s symbol. You can check it out below.

LoL Patch 7.22 Context and Notes

Meddler has been discussing the final few changes to runes, the context around jungle XP, and explaining that minions and monsters will be spawning 10 seconds earlier from pre-season.

Meddler has also been offering some extra context around the changes to health bars, and saying that the old Bandit mastery will be added to support items through pre-season, to refrain from impacting support income.

Meddler has also been discussing how Riot plan to deal with champions who don’t lean brilliantly towards a particular keystone rune with the new system in place, with Nunu as a particularly pertinent example.

With changes to levelling, Summoner Spells will start unlocking at different levels. Those are as follows:

  • Flash level decreased to 7 from 8.
  • Smite level decreased to 9 from 10.
  • Ignite level decreased to 9 from 10.
  • Cleanse level increased to 9 from 6.
  • Teleport level increased to 7 from 6.
  • Clarity (ARAM) level increased to 6 from 1.
  • Mark (ARAM) level increased to 6 from 1.

To reiterate: These are all recurring changes – they’ve spent some time on the PBE over the last few cycles, but won’t go live for a while yet. They should be live when preseason starts, on November 7, but like any PBE changes, they aren’t guaranteed to do so.
