Dontnod have already said that they would create a new set of characters while retaining the themes and overall feel of Life is Strange if they were to make a second season. However, the decision to go ahead with production was ultimately down to publisher Square Enix.
In an interview with French outlet Alchimy, Dontnod co-founder Alain Damasio said: "I worked as a script doctor on Life is Strange, developed by the studio Dontnod, and I will participate on Life is Strange 2 later."
