Lord of the Rings Online: Helm’s Deep expansion dated and detailed

So, it’s come to this. Turbine have reached the event horizon for any Lord of the Rings property, the battle for Helm’s Deep. This is the section of the story which shows which Lord of the Rings tie-ins cut the mustard and which are a bit sour cream.

The latest expansion covers the huge battle between Rohan and armies of Saruman. Though it will be bringing more than just big battles to the Lord of the Rings MMO.

The expansion will raise the level cap from 85 to 95, including, also, new skills and class specialisations to fit. Though you won’t need to be a hugely high level to take part in the Battle for Helm’s Deep. Anyone above level 10 will be free to enlist as a soldier against Saruman’s orc horde. The battle will be fought time and time again and you’re able to lose while still gaining experience.

As well as the battle there will be new regions added to the game. It will be your job to travel between the five ridings of Wesemnet and recruit them fight Sauron. According the press release, “Traverse the capital of Edoras, mysterious Dunharrow, and the fortress of the Hornburg within Helm’s Deep.”
