It’s time to win more money than you could possibly know what to do with. Bohemia Interactive are holding a contest next year for Arma 3 modders. The Make Arma Not War competition invites modders to make some amazing content for Arma 3 and stand to win prizes from a €500,000 deep kitty.
Entries will be split into four categories: Total Modification, Singleplayer Game Mode, Multiplayer Game Mode, and Addon. If you think you can make one of those no trouble at all, it’s time to put your coding hat on.
The biggest chunk of the prize – €200,000 – will be awarded to the winner of the Total Modification category, which understandably will take the most effort. Each of the three remaining categories will have 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners, each taking home €50,000, €30,000, and €20,000 prize money respectively.
Bohemia have also joined up with the International Committee of the Red Cross to present a special Health Care in Danger Special Award. Any mod that spends time exploring the theme of health care in dangerous situations will be eligible, and the winner will be shipped out for a week on a Red Cross mission in a foreign country. A mission entirely set from the point of view of a medic could be the first step to bagging this prize.
You’ve got until October 2014 to put together your best work, so there is time (although it may be a close one if you’re thinking about entering the Total Mod category). The judging panel will be made up of Bohemia representatives and industry pros, assessing entries for technical quality, originality, experience, and presentation.
