Mechwarrior Online Founders’ premium time still being worked out for open beta: “We are looking into how we can ensure the Founders can be happy with their purchase.”

As of now, Mechwarrior Online is in closed beta, playable to founder package members. As of next Tuesday, however, it will enter open beta, and Founders’ ‘premium time’ with the game should begin. Only, developer Piranha Games haven’t yet decided exactly when that’s going to happen.

The question is whether premium time begins as open beta does, or whether the clock starts ticking only once a Founder player logs in.

“We are looking into how we can ensure the Founders can be happy with their purchase in terms of the Premium Account timeline and when does the time start ticking away,” said lead designer Paul Inouye in a Reddit AMA. “This is a business decision that is out of the realm of my design bubble, but I can assure you that both Garth and I made sure that Bryan and Russ knew about your concerns.

“That being said, they ARE going to address the issue. Both the hotdogs will be back from their business trip to discuss the actual final plan. I’ve seen all suggested solutions and all of them are definitely in the best interest of the Founder’s packages,” he added.

I have to say, it seems like they’re laser-cutting it a bit fine. If you’re a Founder member, let us know your thoughts in the comments.
