Mojang are giving away 12,000 Minecraft Realms trial keys this weekend

Minecraft Realm Trials Sheep

To celebrate the release of Minecraft Realms, Mojang are giving away a whopping 12,000 trial keys this weekend. Every hour, from 11am UTC on Saturday, to 11am UTC on Sunday, 500 keys will be doled out randomly to Minecrafters. The only thing need to do is to boot up the game, and click the “Minecraft Realms” option, and see if you’re a winner.

Minecraft Realms is a paid for service where you, and friends, can play on a Mojang ran server. There, players can create their own random world, upload their own maps, or select a Mojang made preset. It’s basically a no-nonsense way to grab yourself a server that’s easy to use and secure.

“Realms costs from  €8/£6.40/$10.40 a month to play (it’s a bit cheaper if you subscribe for longer), and up to 10 crafters can play on any one Realm at a time.” said Mojang's Owen Hill. “It’s currently only available for the PC version of Minecraft.”

To get into the 14 day long trial, just fire up Minecraft this weekend and select the “Minecraft Realms” option in the main menu. If you’re in luck, you’ll bag yourself trial that will instantly begin there and then.

Good luck!

I think they are doing this because of a movie they have been working on for Minecraft.

I read the article here: http://www.anothergames.com/inc/category/legendary?id=61&title=minecraft-movie
